New Youth for Christ |

From it's beginning over 60 years ago the mission of Youth for Christ
has been to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ with young
people. To see every young person have an opportunity to
become a life-long follower of Jesus Christ. In Eastern Iowa
thousands of teenagers have heard that message and become followers of
Christ because of the faithfulness of YFC staff, donors, board members
and the countless number of volunteers. Many, as they grew in
their relationship with Christ, are themselves involved reaching out to
others in their church, neighborhood, school, or community. As
much as we are thankful for the history of YFC we are equally
excited about the future. |

An early YFC slogan was "Anchored to the
Rock, geared to the times". The mission and message of YFC will
never change. However at times it is necessary to refocus and take
a new approach in order to carry out our mission. We are excited
to share with you the new Youth for Christ. Here are the
highlights: |

A New Name • Heartland Youth for Christ
was chosen for we are located in the heartland of the country and
state. More importantly because of changed lives from a changed
heart through a personal relationship with Jesus. |
|
|
|
Vision • Our vision is for YFC staff
to work alongside teams of adults who are involved in the lives of
teenagers in local schools and juvenile facilities. This team formula
will carry the Good News of Christ to individual students.

|
|
Leadership •
Heartland YFC has a Board of Trustees formed from local Christian
leaders. This team provides the spiritual, organizational, fiscal
and directional oversight for the ministry. Staff carries out the
mission and vision of YFC as determined by the Trustees. |
|
|
|
Focus • To fulfill the mission of Youth for
Christ, the focus is individual ministry sites or locations (schools and
juvenile institutions). Essential to this effort is a foundation of
prayer, development of volunteers, building loving relationships with teenagers,
sharing God's word competently and in a relevant way, and working in cooperation
with other like minded organizations and churches. |
